1. Do I need prior experience in investing?

No. Most of our students start with no background in shares. Our education is designed to guide complete beginners step-by-step, with a focus on safer, risk-managed approaches.

In fact, it can often be an advantage to come in with no prior experience. Many people who’ve learned other trading methods in the past try to mix and match them with our Blueprint, and it can actually sabotage their results. The truth is, investing works best when it’s kept simple. In a world full of financial noise, complex tools, and endless indicators, simplicity is often safer and more effective.

Our education helps you focus only on the few things that really matter – so you can make clear, confident decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.

2. Is this financial advice?

No – The Freedom Trader is an education provider. We don’t manage money or tell you what to buy and sell. Instead, we teach you a structured, risk-managed approach to share investing so you can confidently make your own decisions.

3. Is this investing or trading?

It’s a common question – and the answer is that at The Freedom Trader, we actually teach both investing and a form of trading we call “active investing.”

Here’s how we define them:

  • Investing: Holding a quality business for the longer term – typically anywhere from a few months to a few years. The focus is on building steady, consistent growth over time.

  • Trading (Active Investing): Holding a position for a shorter timeframe – usually a few weeks to a few months – to take advantage of opportunities where the market gives you a favourable entry and exit.

What we don’t teach is day trading or speculative gambling. We don’t believe in sitting in front of a screen all day chasing minute-to-minute price moves. That approach is high-stress, high-risk, and often ends badly for everyday investors – click here to read why we don’t recommend day trading.

Instead, the Blueprint combines both longer-term investing and shorter-term active investing within one structured, risk-managed system. This way, you can build consistency, reduce risk, and adapt to different market conditions – without the stress of daily trading.

4. How much money do I need to start?

Even if you have a large amount of capital, we recommend starting small. The goal at the beginning is to build skill, confidence, and consistency. Once you see results and feel comfortable with the process, most students naturally start adding more to their portfolios over time.

5. I’m in my 50s or 60s – is it too late to start?

Not at all. In fact, many people in this age range are often better suited to learning our Blueprint. Younger people (especially in their 20s) can sometimes be tempted by “get-rich-quick” styles of trading or high-risk leverage. In contrast, those later in life tend to value consistency, resilience, and security – which aligns perfectly with our risk-managed approach. You can read more here: Am I too young or too old to start investing?

6. How much time does this take each week?

The 6-week ramp-up component of the Blueprint package itself is about 10 hours of content over 6 weeks – roughly 1.67 hours per week, or about 14 minutes a day. To implement the action steps alongside learning, you’ll probably spend 28 - 43 minutes a day during the initial learning phase. Once your systems are set up and you’re comfortable with the Blueprint, most students spend 20 - 30 minutes a day reviewing and managing their portfolio if they’re active, and about 1-2 hours per week if they’re more of a passive investor.

7. What if I don’t understand finance jargon?

That’s perfectly fine. Our teaching style is plain, practical, and jargon-free. If you can follow a recipe, you can follow our system.

8. How is this different from other investing courses/programs?

Transparency is one of our core values. Terry openly shares what’s in his own portfolio – including what he’s buying and selling each week – so you can learn directly by looking over his shoulder. You’re not just taught the principles; you see them applied in real time.

9. Do you provide support after I join?

Yes. Our Customer Care team is dedicated to helping you access the course, stay on track, and feel supported. Whether it’s technical help, learning guidance, or encouragement along the way, you’ll always have someone to reach out to.

When you join, you’ll begin with a 6-week guided learning experience to help you master the foundations. After that, you’ll continue into our Inner Circle, where for the remaining 46 weeks of the year you’ll be putting the Blueprint method into practice with our ongoing guidance.

We provide multiple channels of support – from our Customer Care team, to community groups, to live Q&A opportunities – but it’s important to note: the responsibility is on you to reach out when you need help. We can only assist if we know what challenges you’re facing.

This year-long structure ensures you’re not just learning the theory, but actually applying it in real life with a safety net of guidance and encouragement. Many students find that this combination of structured learning plus ongoing implementation support is one of the most valuable aspects of their journey.

10. Do you provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring?

No – and here’s why that’s actually a positive.

At The Freedom Trader, we’ve found that people learn faster and feel more supported when they’re part of a community. Instead of relying on a single coach, you get to learn alongside hundreds of other students on the same journey – sharing wins, asking questions, and realising you’re not alone.

This group environment also means Terry can spend his time teaching, guiding, and answering questions in a way that helps everyone at once, rather than being limited to just a handful of one-on-one conversations. That way, he’s able to support more people – and you still get the clarity, encouragement, and direction you need.

11. Do you manage funds on behalf of others?

No – and that’s very intentional. At The Freedom Trader, we believe in teaching you how to fish, not having you rely on us.

One of the reasons Terry started The Freedom Trader was because he realised he could help more people by teaching them how to manage their own investing decisions, rather than doing it for them. It’s far more fulfilling – and empowering – when you know you can build and manage your own financial future with confidence.

12. How do I know this works?

The best way is to hear from others who’ve been where you are.

You can also read hundreds of independent reviews on:

13. How long will it take before I see results?

That really depends on you and your starting point.

The Blueprint is designed to help you begin applying what you learn right away, but the pace of results varies depending on:

  • How much effort you put into implementing the lessons consistently

  • Whether you’re proactive in asking for help and applying feedback

  • If you’re coming in fresh, or carrying “baggage” from other investing/trading methods (students who try to merge multiple systems often slow their progress)

  • Your existing level of financial knowledge – beginners often do better because they keep things simple, while experienced traders sometimes need to “unlearn” habits that don’t align with our risk-managed approach

It’s also important to note: when we talk about results, the focus is on portfolio performance and consistency, not a specific dollar amount – since everyone’s financial starting point is different.

Some students notice improvements in their investing approach within weeks. For others, it takes longer as they build confidence, refine their process, and allow the compounding effect of safer, consistent investing to take hold.

That’s exactly why the program is structured as a 12-month journey – giving you time to learn, apply, get feedback, and steadily build momentum with the Blueprint.

14. Who is the Blueprint for?

The Blueprint is designed for everyday Australians who want a safer, structured way to build wealth through shares. Our students are often:

  • Business owners or professionals looking to create income beyond their business or career

  • Farmers and tradies who want off-farm wealth and less reliance on physical labour

  • Healthcare professionals who have high incomes but limited time and no clear retirement plan

  • Professionals in their 50s and 60s preparing for retirement and seeking more financial security

  • People with little or no prior investing experience who want a simple, risk-managed process they can follow with confidence

If you’re ready to take control of your financial future, want to learn how to manage your own investing decisions, and value consistency over hype – the Blueprint is likely a strong fit.

15. Who is the Blueprint NOT for?

The Blueprint isn’t for everyone – and that’s intentional. It’s not suited for people who:

  • Are looking for “get-rich-quick” schemes or high-risk speculation

  • Want someone else to manage their money or tell them exactly what to buy and sell

  • Are unwilling to put in the time to learn and apply the system themselves

  • Struggle with excessive debt or have no capital to invest at all

  • Expect guaranteed returns or “secret hacks” (we don’t believe in those)

The Freedom Trader is about education, not financial advice. Our approach is focused on helping you become a confident, independent investor using a structured, risk-managed method – not chasing shortcuts.

16. Do you have any free resources I can check out?

Absolutely – and we actually encourage it. We want you to feel comfortable and confident before making any decisions, so we provide a range of free resources you can explore at your own pace:

Blog Articles & Educational Content

Free Tools & Resources

Live Masterclass

  • The Online Masterclass – your best starting point to see Terry explain the Blueprint method live, put the tools into practice, and ask questions directly.

We believe in education first, which is why these free resources are designed to give you a clear sense of what we do – so you can decide if our approach feels like the right fit for you.

17. What if I can’t attend the live Masterclass?

The best option is always to attend live, because it’s interactive. You’ll not only learn the tools, but you’ll also be able to put them into practice immediately and ask Terry questions in real time. It’s not a pre-recorded webinar – it’s a genuine live session. If you can’t make it, we can also arrange a one-on-one call with a team member who can walk you through the key ideas in a way that suits your personal situation.
