Neale O'Brien knows what it feels like to lose money you worked hard to save. Back when he was living in London, he got caught up in CFD trading — a leveraged product that was sold to him as a managed, hands-off solution. It wasn't. "It just went down and down and down into speed real quick." The loss was significant. And it left a mark.

For years after that, Neale kept his distance from investing — cautious, reluctant, but never quite able to switch off the interest. The irony is that his day job put him right in the middle of the financial world. He worked for a company running high-volume algorithmic trading — machines executing thousands of trades per second. He understood markets better than most people ever will. But understanding markets and trusting them with your own money are two very different things.

What eventually brought Neale back was finding an approach built around protecting capital first and growing it second. Terry's model wasn't about chasing returns or outsmarting algorithms. It was about investing in genuinely good companies at the right price — and letting the fundamentals do the work over time.
